HISTORY OF USE
St Johns wort oil is taken from the wildflower, which is sometimes thought of as an herb and sometimes a weed. It is known to have been used as far back as ancient Greece, where it was used to heal wounds and also as a diuretic. Later uses have included pain relief and as a mild sedative to help insomniacs.
St. John’s Wort has been used for many centuries, first known to be used by the ancient Greeks and Bulgarians. Â The essential oil derived from Bulgaria has superior antioxidant and medicinal quality compared to oils from other regions.

Please use safety precautions, because St. John’s Wort and the sun are incompatible. St. John’s Wort is phototoxic, and can damage your skin if rubbed on the skin and exposed to sunlight.
Other ways to use St. John’s Wort Essential oil
St. John’s Wort can be applied topically, in the bath, or through direct inhalation.
Combine St. Johns Wort along with roman chamomile and helichrysum in a carrier oil, such as rosehip seed oil, for a potent skin health blend.
