Patchouli Oil (Pogostemon cablin) is known as sensual, romantic, natural aphrodisiac – most people either love the aroma or simply hate it. Patchouli essential oil made from the leaves of the patchouli bush. Patchouli is one of those oils which people love or hate. It is has great mood uplifting property which can help during states of down and depression. It works really well during meditative state when one tries to find inner happiness within. Add 10 drops in diffuser and let your thoughts follow aroma in to happiness and joy.
Diffused In Air
Patchouli Oil helps to alleviate anxiety. Add 8-10 drops to diffuser and enjoy.
Massage
- Calmative: Water retention: To ease water retention, use 8-10 drops in bath water or mix 2-3 drops with 1 ounce of carrier oil and massage on body.
HEALTH
- Acne, dermatitis, and eczema: mix 2-3 drops with a carrier oil and dab on affected area. (Essential oils are highly concentrated plant oils. Read and follow instructions for use carefully.)
- Athlete’s foot: and other fungal infections, put 2-3 drops on a cotton ball and dab on affected area.
- Dandruff: Patchouli oil is great for dandruff. To use it, mix 2-3 drops in unscented conditioner and apply to scalp. Leave on for 3-5 minutes, then rinse.
- Constipation: Dilute 8 to 10 drops of patchouli oil in 4 parts milk and take a nice long soak in bath.
Cosmetic
- Skin Care: To tighten loose skin, especially after weight loss, use 2-3 drops in 1 ounce of carrier oil and massage on body regularly. Can also use 8-10 drops in bath water.
- Skin & Shampoo: For oily skin, put 2-3 drops on a wet cotton ball and dab on skin. For oily hair, add 2-3 drops to a nickel-sized amount of unscented shampoo. Shampoo as normal; rinse. To help alleviate stress-related emotional disorders, use 2-3 drops in a diffuser.
- Weight Loss: To complement a diet and exercise regimen, use 2-3 drops in a diffuser regularly to reduce appetite. Can also use 8-10 drops in a bath.
Mosquitoes and Bugs
Patchouli is a great insect repellent. When going outdoors add 15 drops of oil to 1/4 liter water spray bottle, shake it up really well before use. Spray on clothes, tent, and hats to repel blood sucking insects. To apply on skin, dilute oil with carrier oil, like Jojoba of 1 to 5 parts. To repel insects, use 2-3 drops in a diffuser.
