Helichrysum Essential Oil is derived from Helichrysum, a member of the sunflower family of plants.  Though there are many species of helichrysum, the one that’s typically used as an essential oil and natural remedy is the italicum species. This species is a small, perennial shrubby herb with narrow, silver-hairy leaves and small, yellow, straw-like flowers. When crushed, these flowers release a distinct, curry-like aroma. The names “everlasting” and “immortelle” come from the reputation of the flowers for retaining their brilliant colour even when dried.

Helichrysum, the flower that contributes to “Everlasting” and “Immortal” Essential Oil, and known by the names Helichrysum Angustifolium and Helichrysum Italicum, is an European herb native to France, Italy and a few neighboring countries. This is a very costly oil and scarcely available, but unlike other essential oils which have a short shelf life, this oil can be stored for a very long time.
